Anyone Else Craving a Vacation?

Whoa, this year has been a struggle both mentally, financially, and emotionally.

If you are craving a getaway here are some things that you can do to keep you and your family safe this summer while still enjoying some much-needed separation from your daily routines.

As people decide to drive versus fly, below is some important information to keep in mind while traveling.

Local restrictions, because all states, cities, and counties may have different protocols as well as businesses and restaurants, it is best to check and recheck your intended destination travel advisories both before you book, and again before you leave to save time and trouble. Additionally, because we aren't able to see the future, read about cancellation policies or the ability to reschedule your trip.

Popular websites like VRBO, Home Away, and Airbnb due to Covid-19 have lifted some of the required lengths of stays to make travel easier for those seeking longer or shorter visits.

Cleanliness, although protocols are put into place to deep clean after each rental, it doesn't hurt to be a little more proactive for your own safety. Travel with disinfectant sprays, wipes, hand sanitizers, and more than one safety mask. Upon your arrival, wipe down doors, counters, light switches, etc, and spray all areas to ensure that they are clean before you unload your suitcases.

Once you're at your destination of choice be sure to stay put and enjoy a different viewpoint by reading a book, sitting by a body of water, relaxing with family, or enjoying some outdoor activities centered around your loved ones. If you do decide to venture out seeking some local entertainment, be sure to follow all the local protocols and any other additional measures to make yourself more comfortable and relaxed.

As an additional measure, you can reach out to the rental agency to ask specifics about local grocers, activities, restaurants, and takeout meals as well as finding out specifics about your rental accommodation.

If you have to stay in your local community, take it outside for a different perspective. Take small day trips to see sights that you either haven't seen before or may have not seen in a little while. Visit local farms to pick produce, hike a different trail, visit a nearby park, or pick up a different interest or hobby. Learning something new can channel your energy from something negative into potentially a beloved interest or revenue stream.

Many studies have shown that getting closer to nature can improve your health, state of mind, and relieve general anxiety.

Be safe my friends.
