Now Trending, Double On-suites

I’ve noticed a growing number of requests for more than one master suite or what's becoming better known as on-suites.

With more focus on families, it is becoming more popular for parents and extended families to live in one housing unit, this is creating a demand for more than one on-suite.

Two on-suites are a practical option to fill a current need or future need. Having one on-suite on the first level is ideal for our maturing parents as well as parents of teenage children who would like more of a buffer for privacy.

In recent remodels, homeowners are adding a second master suite for guests or family members for convenience and resell value, in turn, this will also affect the ability to sell more quickly.

More and more builders are also responding to the demand and now offer dual on-suites when designing new floor plans. The additional on-suite or studio option also may include a separate entrance to create more privacy for both the occupant and homeowner as well as an additional income opportunity.

It is comforting to know that in the event that you do need additional space for a parent, you will be able to assist them in the transition. This also allows your parents to maintain some independence by having their own space to retreat.

When purchasing a new home always be thinking of your future needs as well as your immediate needs.
